Greece in Crisis

Today, Greece’s parliament passed the harsh austerity measures required for a third EU bailout. This means even greater economic hardship for people living in Greece, and healthcare is one of the hardest hit of the public services. According to this report by the BBC, “An estimated 800,000 Greeks are without medical access due to poverty or lack of insurance.”

Our MdM clinics in Greece served 80,000 patients in 2014. Under extreme circumstances, they are continuing their lifesaving work today – just as they have been doing since 1990.

Greek Debt Crisis: ‘Of all the damage, healthcare has been hit the worst,’ according to clinic director Sofia Garane.

"We cannot leave people dying on the streets, out of hunger, out of lack of medicine, out of lack of doctors,” said Dr. Bettina Krumbholz.

Your $25 donation will ensure that another 5 people in Greece get the critical medical care they need - even during these difficult times.
